About GolfersYard

Table of Contents

Real golfers. Independent reviews. No brand influence.

GolfersYard was built on one idea: golfers deserve honest, field-tested information — not sponsored content dressed up as advice. We research, test, and write every guide ourselves, with no payment from the brands we cover.

No paid placements

Named testers on every review

Min. 4 rounds before publishing

Affiliate links after editorial decisions

The Team

Written and tested by people who actually play

Founder

Nyamweru Wambari

Lead Writer & Editor

Nyamweru writes and edits the majority of GolfersYard’s guides, from equipment roundups to apparel reviews. She has played courses around the world and brings hands-on testing to every review she leads. Her background is in SEO and content strategy, which shapes how GolfersYard finds and answers the questions golfers are actually searching for.

Founder

Gitonga Mwaura

Developer & Technical SEO

Gitonga handles everything under the hood — site speed, schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and technical infrastructure. A weekend golfer with a particular interest in GPS technology, he leads the hands-on evaluation of golf tech products: GPS watches, rangefinders, and golf apps.

Founder

Ivy Wambui

Community & Social

Ivy runs GolfersYard’s social channels and community presence. She monitors what women golfers are searching for, asking about, and sharing — feeding that insight back into the content we prioritise. Her focus keeps the site grounded in what real golfers want to know, not just what’s easy to write about.

How We Work

Our testing and editorial process

Every guide on GolfersYard starts with a real question — something a golfer is searching for, arguing about at the 19th hole, or genuinely unsure about.

Minimum 4 rounds before publishing

We test equipment over a minimum of four rounds in varied conditions — dry, dewy, and wet — before we publish our verdict.

Named testers, not “our team”

When a product has been tested personally, we say who tested it. We don’t hide behind generic attribution.

Criteria defined before testing

We set evaluation criteria before we pick up the product. This stops us rationalising a conclusion we reached before we started.

Affiliate links after editorial decisions

We decide what to include before we check whether an affiliate link exists. No brand has paid for a placement.

Specialist reviewers by category

Nyamweru leads apparel and equipment. Gitonga leads GPS and tech. Category expertise means deeper evaluations.

Guides updated when things change

We revisit articles when new models launch, prices shift, or better alternatives appear. Every guide shows its last updated date.

Editorial Standards

What we commit to, every time

No paid placements

Brands cannot pay to appear in our guides, be featured in a roundup, or receive a more favourable position. Every inclusion is editorial.

Affiliate disclosure on every page it applies

Where we earn a commission if you buy through a link, we say so clearly — at the top of the article, not buried in a footer.

Negatives listed alongside strengths

A review that doesn’t tell you what’s wrong with a product isn’t a review — it’s a press release. We write what we’d tell a friend considering the same purchase.

We read every email.

Found something wrong in one of our guides? Have a product you think we should cover?
